About Creative Bodyworks & Orlando Massage

When you visit Joel you will feel the joy, passion and commitment he has for the practice of massage therapy. His approach to practicing massage therapy is to build a relationship of trust and comfort with his clients. Joel views massage as a collaboration between the client and the therapist to help facilitate healing change. Each client’s situation is unique. We all have accumulated stress and trauma that our bodies have adapted to over the years. That’s why you won’t find yourself getting a cookie cutter massage by Joel. The two of you will work together to discover the best direction for treatment with Joel as a facilitator helping your body heal itself.

Over the past 29 years, Joel has strived to improve his knowledge and abilities to provide his clients with bodywork that is effective and long lasting. After graduating from the Reese Institute of Oviedo Florida in 1994, Joel completed an additional 252 hours of Neuromuscular therapy training before becoming a Certified Neuromuscular Therapist. Also, Joel has enhanced his ability to rehabilitate clients with chronic pain by completing 320 hours of training to become a Structural Energetic Therapy Practitioner. (SET). To Further enhance his knowledge of SET, Joel is also assistant instructor helping other Massage Therapists become SET practitioners. Joel feels that to be a truly great massage therapist he must challenge himself by continually taking advanced training to provide his clients with relief from stubborn chronic pain and stress.

For example, Joel constantly improves his knowledge of anatomy and physiology. This improved knowledge helps Joel identify, isolate and treat the appropriate muscles and fascia that are causing the pain or discomfort. Joel looks at the body from a local and a global perspective. The source of most soft tissue pain is away from where it hurts and often mimics common issues such as carpal tunnel syndrome or even migraine headaches. Finding the source of your pain requires putting the pieces together. Does your pain come from opposing muscle or fascia that is stretching and overloading the sore area? Is there neural interference from soft tissue compression on a nerve causing the pain? Do you have a postural imbalance that if not treated properly will cause your pain to return shortly after treatment?

Having a solid understanding of anatomy and physiology along with advanced training in Structural Energetic Therapy® (SET)Deep Tissue Massage TherapySports Massage TherapySwedish Massage TherapyNeuromuscular Massage Therapymyofascial Release and Trigger Point Massage Therapy provides Joel with very effective tools to help relieve your pain, improve your performance, restore ease of movement and help you relax.
