Today I want to emphasize how massage therapy can be an important part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Most of us let soft tissue pain sneak up on us. Over time our bodies contort themselves to adapt to the daily stresses of life. At first it may be just a sense of tightness that inhibits normal range of motion. Then over time that area can become very tight and tender contributing to trigger points that can refer sensations such as pain, numbness, and tingling to completely different areas of the body. We tell ourselves maybe it will go away and we ignore it. But then the soft tissue pain gets to the point where you can’t ignore it. Each day the same area is nagging and slowing you down or even preventing you from doing your job. That’s where I come in. Ideally I’d like to treat you before we get to the point where you can’t function normally. Bodywork is a great way to keep your body functioning at a more optimal level. If you have bodywork to keep you neck and shoulders, hips and lower back, legs and feet in alignment and open, you are much more likely to function at a level where you don’t have nagging headaches, lower back pain or hip pain. If you are in balance and alignment your body can adapt to and respond better to the stresses of daily life.
